2015 comes to an end and with this occasion I will highlight my top three personal achievements. It was a busy year with lots of ups and downs, joy and disappointment, maturity and exceeding one's limit. But if you are going to ask me what are my proudest 2015 moments, I will answer (in no particular) order the following three:
1. Building UX Recipe
In February I launched UX Recipe, a very simple estimation tool/prototype, but with huge potential. And the results backed me up. It got a lot of attention and usage that it convinced me to keep on updating it. I got valuable feedback and interacted with dozens of designers, project managers or enthusiasts. Moreover, now I'm trying to build and release the first iOS version in Q1 2016. So fingers crossed and hope for the best.
2. Brandon Flowers concert
I love The Killers since 2009 and it's the only band I have on my iPod shuffle. I wear it and listen to them almost everyday. If you see me with my headphones on, you will know from the start what I'm listening to. And when I've heard that Brandon Flowers, the lead singer, was going to tour in London not only it brought me great joy, but without hesitation, I grabbed the tickets and jumped on the plane to the concert.
It was a blast and the best part... I even got his freaking autograph after waiting more than three hours at the queue. Yeah, I'm that kind of a fan.
3. Northern Lights hunting
In May I planned with a part of my best friends a trip to Iceland to see the Northern Lights. In late November we arrived in Reykjavik and day by day we searched the sky for a bit of "light".
It was only when we moved to the North, in Akureyri, when the clouds, winds and moon let us see the spectacle knows as Aurora Borealis. It was fantastic and a night (the only one) to remember a lifetime.
Conclusion
For some It might not seem much, but for me, being able to start building my own product, experiencing the live performance of the artist that inspires me on a daily basis and seeing the sky bend the light at below zero temperatures on pitch dark nights contributes to the state I am now and will be as an individual.
I don't know what the next year has in store for me, but I'm curious to find out. Bad or rad, 2016 is at the door.
