Your mixes on the iPod.
Listen to your favorite tracks from your account right on the new iPod 8tracks shuffle.
Licensing is everything.
The same 8tracks rules are applied. So next time don’t skip so many songs or you will go to the next playlist.
Design. Bigger is better.
Compromises needed to be made.
The iPod 8tracks shuffle is 20% bigger than the previous model. We had to make this decision not only to integrate the new control scheme, but also to build it as confortable and usable as possible. Your thumbs won’t get in the way.
Size does matter.
The device may be bigger, but has the same thickness and it is 15% lighter than any other iPod.
Controls. All you ever need.
A true 8track player.
Inspired by 8tracks you can play/pause/skip songs just like on the web. You can listen to your playlists in order or you can shuffle them. You can set the volume up or down. Also, VoiceOver helps you recognize the song is currently playing.
More advanced than you think.
Don’t want your thumbs to stay in your way? Press/hold the play and skip buttons to block them. Press and hold again to unblock. The same goes for the volume up/down key. Gain minimum effort with minimum control and you will never miss a button again.
Iteration equals progress.
The product represents the result of hundreds of design iterations. We wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for our continuous effort to innovate.
Sync. Enhance your mixes.
8tracks support on iTunes.
You can now create or upload your favorite mixes on iTunes and sync them with the iPod 8tracks Shuffle.
Twice as much battery.
Up to 30 hours of audio playback when fully charged.
The new 8tracks shuffle.
Radio, rediscovered within the iPod.
This concept represents a fan art and it was made just for fun (i like design challenges). I respect both companies and their products. No harm is intended whatsoever. Hope you like it and feel free to contribute with ideas or feedback.
PS: It's based on my original posting on Dribbble.
Later edit: This concept was featured on Uninvited Redesign. Thanks for the support.
